6 of the Deadliest Tourist Attractions in the World
#2 – Half Dome, Yosemite National Park
Half Dome is among the longest and riskiest hikes in Yosemite National Park. To hike up Half Dome, it will take you an entire day, during which you’ll burn up to 9800 calories and climb more than 5000 ft, in addition to climbing the last 400 ft almost vertically with the assistance of metal cables. And that’s where some fatal problems occur.
Climbers do struggle to reach the peak. Unfortunately, some of them lose their lives before they succeed to reach it, as they’re likely to fall from massive rocks or slip from the metal cables.
Other causes of deaths in this place include heart attacks, base jump fails, and lightning strikes. In fact, more than 60 deaths have occurred in Half Dome.
