6 of the Deadliest Tourist Attractions in the World

#5 – Colorado River

Colorado River Latest Stories

The incredible Colorado River expands at 1.450 miles through five states (Arizona, Nevada, Utah, California, and Colorado.) This means that many local tourists regularly visit the river’s banks for tubing, swimming, or white-water rafting.

These can all be fun for the whole family, but the Colorado River system has been plagued with injuries, accidents, and fatalities.

Sadly, many people are not aware of how risky the waters can be, especially after a heavy rain and high amounts of melted snow, which have caused 15 deaths in only one year and more deaths occur frequently due to drowning or a lack of safety equipment or awareness.
