5 Things You Need to Avoid Touching at a Hotel Room
#4 – The Comforter
Never sleep in the mattress and comforter without at least a quick examination, even better, take it off. If you’re worried about the level of your cleanliness at your hotel, the best thing is to bring your own comforter.
Bed bugs love to hide in warm places, such as the crevices of the mattresses, headboards, and box springs. So don’t freak out if they’ve made their way onto the sheets and comforter as well. This may shock you, but some former and current hotel staffers have confessed that the comforters are rarely (if ever) washed.
Also, watch out for those extra blankets found in the closet; who knows when they were last laundered. The same thing applies to pillows as well. To be extra safe, bring your own pillowcases.
