This exotic North African country is the second most dangerous destination. It is not recommended for you, female traveler, to visit it on your own. According to US State Department, American citizens are highly targeted and subject to terrorist attacks.

The State Department also warns the travelers and advice them to guard themselves as the risk of being a victim of these existing crimes, pick-pocketing, purse-snatching, and street robberies, burglaries, is always possible.

For your safety, Trip.com offers you some tips to follow:

• When you are in Morocco learn to be smart. Wear a cross body-bag and never carry valuable or important things with you. Your jewelry, for instance, or even your passport. Always expect the unexpected and take your necessary precautions before it happens.

• Men will be catcalling you all the time in Morocco. The best response you can ever give is ignoring them as if they are not even there. In case the catcalling exceeded its limits to physical touches or threats, immediately seek the nearest police station and report the incident.

• The clothing is a very challenging topic in Morocco. It’s like a buffet where you can find a bit of everything. To avoid any possible incident hold on to the normal and general norms. Wear modestly and less attractively. The more you show, the more desired you will be.

• It’s normal to get lost in a city or a country you don’t know. When something like this happens to you, don’t ask anyone who comes your way. There are many tourist hunters who chase money for the simplest service they offer you. Instead look for a shop or a woman and request your direction.

• You can also learn some Arabic phrases. They might be very helpful to you. Otherwise, your knowledge of the French language will be more than enough.
