Remote Control phillyvoice.com

You may have never really thought about it, but one of the dirtiest items in your hotel room is the remote control. Scary fact? The remote could carry as much bacteria as your toilet seat! Well, it’s time to disinfect before you start pushing buttons.

Moreover, a study on microbiology from the University of Arizona found that remote controls at hotel rooms contain high levels of bacteria and as much as 20% of them were contaminated with semen (God knows how many kinds of semen!)

Remember to pack your disinfecting wipes and make sure to swipe the remote before use. In case you forgot, put the remote in a transparent plastic bag so you can avoid direct contact with the harmful germs. The cleaning staff doesn’t always disinfect smaller electronics.
